The second time that I browsed this picture, I became emotional not for the Mabolo tree, not for Willie nor Nida; but for the sugarcane field at their back. That's how the place looked like before. Now that place is thickly populated with residential houses, big and small. It has more or less developed!

The tree shadow that covered Willie and Nida Gan came from Mabolo Tree situated in front of La Carlota City. That tree was very memorable for me and Rebing. In that very tree where we took refuge and I proposed my true love to her. The said Mabolo tree is still there, sturdy, with healthy crown, able to withstand the test of time, weather and vandalism from unconcerned students who used stay there for a chat, for gossip or whatever!
